Something so simple...

as a resume and portfolio seems to require a great ammount of time and work. I heard once that creating a good portfolio doesn't happen overnight,  but I've been working (and re-working) on my portfolio for over 9 months now and I still have very little to show for it.

One of the things I'm learning is that I am absolutely HORRIBLE at documentation. Over the ciurse of my year-long BFA progam I ammased a great deal of writtings, sketches, scans, drawing, prints, photos and stickers of my work. Yet now, a mere 6 months later I can find vurtually nothing. In my own defence, it has also been two moves later and moving has an uncanny ability to make things dissapear. On top of that my laptop had a complete harddrive failure and all of my data from previous years was lost... no I hadn't backed up. (Bad digital artist! Bad!)

That being said, as I try to actually organize all of my relavant digital art and design work I'm finding myself at a loss and this is creating a lot of frustration and a bit of discouragement. What should take a hi hr now takes three as I scoure throhgh old blogs, websites, disk drives. Thumb drives, SD cards, boxes and sketch books to find visual and written examples of my work. There's an old saying that keeps popping in to my head right now... something about a stich in time...
I guess next time I'll be sure to take 20 min and upload and doccument any of my noteworthy projects at that time so that I can save spending two hours trying to recover it in the future.
